Firefly

Founded in 2007, Firefly is a full-service carrier headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. It is a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines and it is the first community airline in Malaysia. The airline has two hubs for operations: Selangor, Penang International Airport (PEN) and Subang, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB). FireFly launched its first operation on April 3rd, 2007 from Penang to Kota Bharu.

The name Firefly was chosen to signal out the distinctive characteristic of Firefly as agile charming, brilliant and luxurious. Firefly has grown to become one of the best premium airlines in Malaysia over the course of a few years.

Firefly has a separate management body which is apart from its parent company. The focus of airline is to provide competitive air service to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia.
