The Beginning:

Saudi airlines or SAUDIA serves the domestic route and thus travels internationally.

Good situations in the history can bring breakthroughs for major projects! Saudi Arabian Airlines is an example of one such situation.

After the historic meeting between King Abdul-Aziz and US President Franklin Roosevelt, a DC-3-type aircraft was presented to the King by the American President. It formed the nucleus of what came to be known as 'Saudi Airlines'. Initially flying passengers between Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, the airline was later strengthened with a fleet of aircraft over 72 years to become one of the largest airlines in the Middle East and indeed the world.

An Inspiring History of Saudi Arabian Airlines

Saudi Airlines is a reflection of success in aviation, having carved a strong reputation for itself locally and overseas after it was established in the 1940s. The airline has undergone major transformations from the first international journeys to the last purchase of aircraft-the last step was in 2003-to provide the highest stellar level of customer service. Being the member of a global alliance like SkyTeam Exhibition of Excellence is being reflective of the airline's capability to render world-class services and fulfill the demands of customer traveling. Today, with the fleet renewal on a continuous basis, network expansion on more destinations, Saudi Arabian Airlines still is one of those airlines preferred by travelers worldwide.

A Quick Overview:

Saudi Arabian Airlines is considered the national airlines of Saudi Arabia kingdom. Also, it's one of the members of the Arab Air Carriers' Organization. Saudia has its major hub operational processes at King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah, along with the other operational hubs at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Prince Mohamed Bin Abdul Aziz Airport in Al Madinah Al Munawara, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, and Abha Regional Airport.

The Privileges of the Saudi Airlines:

The modernity of the air fleet.

The diversity of the domestic and international flights destinations.

Easy flights booking, cancellation and issuance of boarding passes through multiple means.

The good quality of meals provided on flights, especially the long ones.

The variety of shopping options on the plane.

The provision of private lounges for passengers of the 'First' and 'Business' classes.

The existence of loyalty program that is being called 'Al Fursan', which allows the customers of Saudi Arabia to take advantage of many features.

The diversity of entertainment materials on many of its aircraft.

Main centers of Saudi Arabian Airlines (Airline Hubs):

The main operation of 'Saudi Arabian Airlines' emerges from three major airports, which are:

King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah.

King Khalid Airport in Riyadh.

King Fahd Airport in Dammam.

Saudia Airlines Launches 'Order' System to Revolutionize Travel Experience

July 22, 2025

Saudia Airlines' venture with Amadeus to launch the innovative 'Order' system stands as a major landmark in its digital transformation journey. The system replaces the old-fashioned Passenger Service Systems, integrating all traveler-associated information into one dynamic record, which then permits price options and services to be tailored for each unique customer.

The objective behind such is the seamless customer experience while also injecting operational efficiency provided by AI and cloud-native technologies. Saudia is now implementing the new system with minimal impact on the current operations and the weight of the centrally-based Altea PSS platform.

Leveraging Amadeus' Smart and Nexus platforms, this gives Saudia the ability to present tailored offers, customized cabin selections, and real-time responses to passenger demands, setting the bar for front-running digital innovation in the airline industry.
