The Blue Bay Hotel overlooks one of Crete's most attractive bays, Mononaftis, and is just over a mile from the centre of the fishing village, Agia Pelagia. The nearest beach is just 150 metres away and the hotel operates a free shuttle service. The hotel offers a total of 202 rooms split between the main building, annex building and bungalows spread throughout the grounds. There is a varied entertainment programme and a wealth of facilities for young and old alike including kids clubs, a games room, table tennis, nighttime shows, contests and theme nights, gym, multi sport court and children's playground.

Agia Pelagia is 12 miles west of Heraklion and has a narrow beach running around the bay edged with tavernas. Shopping consists of souvenirs, gold and silver shops, internet cafes, an ATM and supermarkets. Agia Pelagia, an ideal location for water sports including water-skiing, wind surfing and canoeing. The area has a regular bus service for those who want to explore further afield. Nightlife is quieter with no large clubs but a few bars and cafes.
