About Thai Airways International

Formed in 1988, Thai Airways International is the flag carrier of Thailand. It is headquartered in Chatuchak District in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and it operates primarily out of Bangkok International Airport (BKK), one of the eight biggest and busiest aviation hubs in Southeast Asia. Thai Airways flies to 91 international destinations in 37 countries. It has a fleet size of 80 aircraft of different models and two subsidiaries airlines Thai Smile and Nok Air. Upholding environmental-friendly travel in the region and adhering to the principles of its ‘Travel Green Program’, it is the first airline in Asia to use biofuel on commercial flights.

Thai Airways International offers three cabin classes and accordingly inflight and on-ground services vary.

Royal First Class

It refers to First Class on Thai Airways International and it is available on Airbus A340-600, Airbus A380, and selected Boeing 737-400 aircraft. Royal First Class passengers are indulged in spacious semi-private suites of eight feet high. Seats recline flexibly from upright to fully flat bed. In addition, this cabin features luxurious inflight amenities such as personal entertainment, 23-inch flat screen, films, music, games, a big dining and work table, and chef-curated meals for passengers to select their favorite dishes and beverages. Besides that, inflight amenities include a warm wear, a pair of slippers and a travel kit full wide variety of toiletries and accessories.

Royal Silk Class:

It is the second cabin class and refers to Business Class. It is available on all the airline fleet models. The same class is sold as Premium Economy on Scandinavian and Moscow routes. Royal Silk Class features seats of 51 to 55 in width and it has a pitch of 58 to 62 inches. Seats are adjustable at different angles up to 180 degrees, so they can be comfortable flat beds. With respect to inflight entertainment facilities, the Royal Silk passengers enjoy music, movies, 15-16 inch flat screen, power points, and USB ports. Also, on Royal Silk cabin complimentary meals are served to passengers to enjoy their culinary delights including pre-departure drink and other chef-curated and travel-specific dishes. Inflight amenities also include a pillow, a blanket, and a travel kit.

Economy Class:

It is available on Airbus A380, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A350-900, Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777. Economy Class features wide reclining seats, generous legroom and seat pitch of around 32 to 34 inches depending on the aircraft model. Inflight amenities on Economy Class include a vast selection of AVOD, personal in-seat touchscreen monitor and a complimentary hot meal or snacks. On long-haul regional and international flights Economy Class passengers are provided with a personal pillow and a blanket.
