Travel Classes onboard Firefly:

Firefly airline operates a single-class cabin and two fare bundles (a) FlyBasic and (b) FlyPremier. The cabin features comfortable, spacious seats with decent legroom to stretch feet and relax. Based on the fare bundle the passengers select, in-flight and on-ground facilities would vary. On FlyBasic fare bundle, the seats are pre-assigned during Firefly booking process, but it features cheap air tickets. Firefly offers all the passengers complimentary different flavors refreshments and snacks onboard the aircraft based on the duration of the flight. Onboard flight shorter than 45 minutes, juice and hot beverages are served and onboard flights longer than 45 minutes juice, hot beverages along with cupcakes/ light snacks are served.

Check-in Procedures and Issuance of Boarding Pass

Firefly provides a user-friendly online check-in to make check-in process hassle-free for the passengers by avoiding the long queues at the airport. Online check-in service is available for Singapore and Malaysian domestic flights. Firefly passengers can also check in for their return and outgoing flights as early as 14 days and as late as 1 hour before their scheduled departure time. Passengers traveling with a shared code airline can easily check in online for their return and outgoing flights separately. Firefly online booking is one step ahead of its competitors and it enables passengers to check in as early as 24 hours and as late as 1 hour before the scheduled departure time. Online check-in is not available for passengers traveling with infants, passengers who have special needs and group bookings of more than 9 passengers In addition to online check-in, Firefly passengers can utilize the self-service machines. Kiosk check-in is available for Firefly airline passengers and passengers traveling with a codeshare airline. To be able to proceed with the kiosk check-in, passengers with Firefly tickets need to either enter their Firefly confirmation reference or Malaysian Airlines. Once the check-in process is completed, the boarding pass is issued.

The third method for check-in is the conventional airport check-in. Firefly check-in counters at the airport open 90 minutes before the scheduled flight and close thirty minutes before departure for the domestic flight. For international flights, the check-in counters are closed forty-five minutes before the departure time.

Prohibited Items in Cabin

Firefly puts certain restrictions on gels, aerosols, and liquids that the passengers are allowed to carry in their hand luggage on board flights:

• All LAGS items, including sprays, creams, perfumes, gels, toothpaste, and drink, should be placed in respective containers
• Containers might not contain more than 100 ml/mg maximum.
• All LAGS containers should be placed in a transparent plastic bag that can be resealed
• Every passenger is allowed to carry only one plastic bag of no more than 1-liter substance.
• The perimeter of all four sides of the plastic bag should not exceed 80cm.
• The resealable bag containing substance must be declared at the screening gate for screening purpose

Policies for Children and Expectant Mothers’ Travel

• Children below 12 years of age should be accompanied by an adult attendant.
• Infants should be at least 8 days old to travel onboard Firefly flights.
• Expectant mothers can travel with Firefly airline up to the 36th week of pregnancy, provided that they declare their pregnancy and sign a Release and Indemnity Form.
